When you buy a 64GB USB drive it will not show as a full 64Gb when you plug it into your PC or Laptop.

It will show between 52.5GB and 60GB ish – This is perfectly normal and is the same for all suppliers. Below is the boring stuff as to why this happens.

Real capacity explained – 

Flash memory products are usually shipped in accordance with 1 MB = 1000 KB, 1 GB = 1000 MB computing, but the operating system using binary arithmetic 1 MB = 1024 KB, 1 GB = 1024 MB.

64 GB = approximately 52.5 GB – 60 GB

This is calculated difference between manufacturer and your PC, please search for ‘USB flash drive capacity’ to get more information.
